Episode 10: "I have more toe fungus than these girls have IQ."
Drew had just been evicted from the BBPearl house, leaving Aisleyne and April has the final two! While the ladies celebrated making it to the end of the game with some champagne, the jurors welcomed Drew to the jury house and continued to discuss the final two.
Dino: April TRIED to make moves. She TRIED to take Sophie out (which wasn't even a BIG move, since EVERYONE wanted it.) But guess what happened? AISLEYNE ruined her plan by saving Sophie. NOW THAT IS A BIG MOVE. When you do something NO ONE wants you to do, and it benefits you. Damn, you just pulled off one helluva game play. April, not so much. She got me out... who did that benefit?
Michelle: I'm gonna be honest though, when April put you up against Sophie and she got saved and Sarah was put up, I was kind of relieved because I really saw you as one of my biggest threats just based on how little we'd actually connected and I mentioned it A.LOT. So I felt it benefited me when she did that but I'm not sure how much it actually benefited her.
Aaron: I never said that Ais didn’t play a good game. But she has a disgusting personality and I have a hard time rewarding my vote to her, especially considering how arrogant and cocky she would get every time she won. She will have to work hard for my vote.
James: As for April, I don't get how she played safe. Why are we not giving April credit for keeping the target off her back when she nominated Sophie? I mean seriously, it takes skill to nominate a giant threat and still be off their radar, I don't care if everyone wanted it, April did well in competitions as well, and she went after threats. She's not getting enough credit in this game, and I think people really need to look at that.
Drew: My vote is up-in-the-air right now. I think April and Aisleyne formed a final two alliance a few days ago, but I honestly need to hear a lot more about how they justify their games before making a decision on my vote.
Brian: One nominee only won 2 HoHs and had an amazing social game. The other was hated by everyone, but survived on competitions and opportunities not taken by the rest of us.
It's time for the jury questioning to begin. First, Aisleyne and April each have an opportunity to address the jury in an opening statement.
Aisleyne: So, coming into this game I had one goal in mind, to win. I wasn't going to settle for anything less and so I knew I had to play this game to the fullest from day one. This is why I went so all out in the first week, dominating both competitions and trying to create sides in the game which would benefit me from there onwards. From this point forward I couldn't back down and as the weeks went on it was beyond obvious I was at times public enemy #1 and was wanted out of this game hardcore, yet here I stand in the final two. With the combination of competition strength and social strategy I was able to advance myself to where I am sitting now and trust me, it wasn't easy. Some of you guys wanted me out hardcore but I was able to outplay and here I am.
April: Oh my goodness, I'm so happy that I actually made it to the final two! Y'all had me going crazy at times, and really had me doubting my chances of making it to this point! With that being said... I really do feel like I deserve to be sitting here in the final two and worked really hard to get to this point. I faced eviction four times, not only did I survive four evictions... But I did so without receiving a single vote placed against me. There were a lot of behind-the-scenes moves that I was a part of and making to ensure that I was always at the top of the pack and in order to eliminate people who I did not trust and who I feared would soon be targeting me. I could go on and on, but I honestly am looking forward to answering all of your questions and do not want to bore you with a long monologue.
James is the first member of the jury to address the final two.
James: Aisleyne, I'll start with you. Your social game... Oh my God this one is rough. Aisleyne for starters this was your biggest flaw overall. Socially you are a HOT MESS. You brought your bitchiness into this game. Tell me why does being a borderline sociopath and a total BITCH deserve my vote or anyone else's? It's not a good social mechanism, it's not cute, it's not cut throat, its not anything. It's just plain damn mean, and for you to think being a bitch deserves a jury vote, you need to do some convincing because you've hurt some people pretty bad via this game, and to take it to that extreme does not deserve any credit and does not deserve a win.
Aisleyne: Being a total bitch? No. Yes I'm a bitch but not to every single person. The only people I recall being a bitch to were you and Aaron. But with reason. You tried hardcore to get me out and your plan didn't go through, obviously I was smug when the tables turned but I wasn't just a bitch for the hell of it to you. Same with Aaron, he wanted me out hardcore so obviously i'm going to go against him and be happy when he was evicted. Everyone else in this game, well most people, I had pretty good social connections with, I was only a bitch when provoked, the whole me being a bitch 24/7 thing is baffling me as I wasn't. Being publicly against my enemies was 100% strategy, people knew my game and knew I wouldn't go after them if I came into power so they came to me with the information I needed. I'm sorry if I upset you with my behaviour towards you, but when someone is against me I'm not just going to sit there, it's not what Ghetto Princesses do.
James: April, I think you're a nice girl, but at the end of the day, your strategy was to be reserved at the early part of the game, and from sequester it really seemed at times, you were just sitting on your ass letting everyone play the game for you. Can you justify this strategy? Do you think you were the one calling all the shots, or do you think everyone dragged you to the finals?
April: I think I can. Everyone thinks I was the conservative girl doing nothing, but really there were a few times when I was calling the shots. I was a large reason in why you got backdoored and Aaron didn't. I definitely was not dragged to the finals. I earned my way. I made sure I had solid relationships with people in this game and made sure they would never turn on me. I was a social powerhouse in this game.
Dino is the next juror to speak.
Dino: I'd like for each of you to please defend your opponent. Explain why you feel they deserve the win more than you do. Give any reasons you feel they may deserve to win (not necessarily more than you), but point out their good points. Afterward, please make a list of bad points to their game play as well.
Aisleyne: April was never seen as a threat in this game because she did nothing, she played an easy game and no one wanted to take her out ever, which is pretty good. She was average in challenges and managed to secure two HoH wins. However, both her HoH reigns were fucked up by me and she sent out you and Michelle which weren't huge moves in this game. April didn't partake in any huge moves at all and seemed to play for the house rather than herself. She never put her neck on the line and was nominated for eviction 4 times which shows she was expandable.
April: Aisleyne delivered every time she needed to by winning important challenges towards the end. But it's too risky of a strategy, because had I not gotten confused during the final HoH, Part 2... I would have beat her and it would have been Drew and I in the final two. She relied only on challenges towards the end which isn't always practical and is far too risky.
Sarah is the third juror to address Aisleyne and April.
Sarah: April, while your "playing dumb" attitude may have been a red herring, I still think at times in this game, you were socially awkward as well as walking a very fragile, fine line between "Fake dumb" and "real dumb."
April: In reality I had a good pulse on what was going on. I joked with people in the game that they should hire me as an image consultant. I wanted to come off as a dumb, as ditzy, etc. But in reality, I'm not stupid. I do have my ditzy moments but I'm an intelligent person.
Sarah: Aisleyne, when I came into this game, I was weary of you, I liked you, but I was weary because of your connections to Dino and Sophie. I did NOT group you with them without fair evidence first. However, once you campaigned to save Dino, and said you "knew you had Sophie's vote" I knew you had a deal with them as well as with me, James, and Brian, so my trust with you was shaken. However, I still really liked you in this game, even if our alliance crumbled from within. Would you have taken me to the F2 if Sophie was evicted and I stayed in the game?
Aisleyne: This depends highly on other situations in the game. Yes I was taking Sophie over anyone, our WhoreTits alliance was pretty sexy. But before you I would have taken Dino and Brian, in that order, then you. But had any of those not been in the final 3, but you were, yes I would have taken you.
Next up is Michelle.
Michelle: Aisleyne, pretend our conversation before my eviction had been different, pretend I had told you that I wouldn't be trying to get you out in the future rounds and would, instead, work with you. Would you have still made the same decision?
Aisleyne: Yes, because going into Week 8, Brian came to me. He'd lost his allies and I'd lost mine. Effectively, we had no alliance left. So me and Brian made a deal, and I wouldn't have evicted him regardless of what you said, because what me and him had was more legitimate than whatever you could've offered me. He proved that in the fast forward round that followed.
Michelle: April, from your opening statement it's clear that I probably wasn't in your long term plans. I would like to know what role I played in your mind though. I know you said you thought I was funny but I'd like to know how far exactly you would have liked to go with me based on how close you felt to me?
April: As far as my long term plans including you, you're correct. You never really were in my long term plans. We never really used the word alliance, and I did with other people. I wanted to keep my integrity in this game and not backstab anyone, so I was trying not to include multiple people in my long term plans, because I knew had I did, if I made it to the end I would've had to betray people.
Aaron was next, and decided to give the finalists a break.
Aaron: Okay so I already made up my mind who I was voting for when I got evicted. This vote is a no brainer for me so I am not going to waste either of your ladies' time. Some of these jury questions already are pointless and a bitch to answer so good luck answering them.
There were only two jurors remaining. Brian took the stage next.
Brian: Blondes aren't known for being smart (I have more toe fungus than these girls have IQ), but both of you said you had made some big moves behind the scenes (because nobody likes your faces, I presume). Please choose the ONE strategic move that you think was the most impressive/beneficial/strategic to your game.
April: My one strategic move that I think was the best was helping Drew decide to backdoor James. Aaron was on the chopping block that week and I was like... "No, Aaron can't leave!" I told Drew I trusted Aaron so much, and he said he trusted Michelle, and that's when that foursome was born. So that was a huge move because us four were a dynamic force.
Aisleyne: The one strategic move which was beneficial to my game I would say is being involved in getting James backdoored from this game. Drew could have easily sent me packing that round but I was able to convince him, with the help of Sophie, that the notes were fake. Having James gone, it allowed for me to see who really was with me and who was trying to get me out, and it allowed me to place myself in a better social position in the game which I could use to advance.
Drew is the last juror to address the finalists.
Drew: What aspect of your game do you feel like you haven't had the chance to emphasize enough in your answers to questions so far based on what was asked that you feel is important to help the jury make their decision? You can say anything you want so you don't have to save it for your closing.
Aisleyne: The one point which I don't think I or anyone else has brought up enough is the fact of how I've overcome the odds to get to where I am right now. Ever since the final 10 I've not had it easy and every round my name was going around as a target and people wanted me out yet I managed to never let this happen and make it to the final two. I also have shocked a lot of people in this game. Yes I have my haters but I think it would be pretty hard for them to believe I actually did manage to make it to the end after numerous attempts to get me out. I went against all odds and made it here via a much, much harder route than April did. My gameplay is clear to see.
April: I really feel like I've talked about all my moves, but one thing I'd like to touch up on was that I was extremely authentic when I talked to each of you. I really liked all of you as individuals, and in my DRs you'll see that I didn't bash anyone except for Aisleyne. I really hope I stay in touch with all of you because you were all so much fun to play with.
Now that all the jurors had gotten their chance with the final two, it was time for closing statements.
April: I can't believe the end is here, but it finally is. I know most of you probably have your minds made up, but just in case you don't I'd like to reinforce some things. Throughout this game I know the perception of me has been that I'm weak and under the radar. But that was my goal all along. That's not just me being lazy. That was my strategy. I was forming relationships with people and feeling everyone out so that I knew when I did make a strategic move it would be carried out and wouldn't be a fatal move for my game.
Aisleyne: I just want to say about me relying on challenges... Weeks 2 - 9, did I win a single HoH? No. Did the HoH ever nominate me? No. The only times I was nominated was due to my own hand and taking risks in trying to fracture the current HoH's bond with people to advance myself. A HoH never nominated me. I think this shows high strategy and skill levels as to be public enemy #1 but never have a HoH nominate you is a pretty incredible move to make. I hope everything is now cleared up and good luck with all your votes! I look forward to finale night
The jury questioning was complete, but, perhaps in an attempt to make Aisleyne look bad in front of the jury, April attacked her in front of everyone regarding an insult Aisleyne made earlier, implying that April's voice was manly.
April: Aisleyne is being SO mean to me! I want everyone to know. SHUT THE FUCK UP AISLEYNE! You're so annoying. Seriously, you're so annoying. GROW UP! STOP BULLYING PEOPLE! I know people that have had to check themselves into mental health because of reality shows. Aisleyne, because of you, there are people out there that take this show really seriously that you might push over the edge, and they might start cutting themselves or being bulimic. IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY AISLEYNE! Don't get on here and say "You're a man!" SHUT UP! Seriously! You just make me so mad! JESUS.
Aisleyne: This bully thing needs to stop, refer to Lori in Curve for a bully. I'm far from it. This jury vote needs to be about gameplay and who the jury thinks should win, not how much you can say I'm a bully when I've done hardly anything wrong.
April: You continue to give me ammunition as to why I think you're bullying me, intimidating me, harassing me... whatever you want to call it. The game between you and I is over so I don't know why you continue to make fun of my voice every chance you get. I promise I'll stop if you stop talking to me about my voice.
Once everything settled down, the jurors cast their votes one by one. Aisleyne and April took their places in the nomination chairs, and Porsche stood in front of the box of keys.
Porsche: There are seven keys in this box. Remember, you WANT to see your name. The first housemate to get four votes will be the winner of BBPearl.
The first vote, cast by James, goes to...
~James Rhine~
I found this decision extremely difficult to make, but I have to go with my instincts. The times in this game, I didn't go with my gut were the times that I ultimately failed in my decision making.
The second vote, cast by Dino, goes to...
~Dino Delic~
Nothing is going to change my mind. I know Aisleyne played the better game, and even if she didn't, I've met a great friend in her and wouldn't wish ill will upon her ever. She worked hard and deserves this win.
The third vote, cast by Sarah, goes to...
~Sarah Hrejsa~
The reason I vote for April is as follows: I think both you ladies played an incredible game, and I think Aisleyne definitely had the physical game down pat, as well as the social/strategic. The difference for me here is that I feel like, as good as Aisleyne was, maybe even better in some aspects, April did a great job of downplaying who she was truly loyal to and to what extent she was loyal to people. We knew about her connection to Aaron and Ragan, but not how good her connections to Drew/etc. were. I like that secretive, sly gameplay just a touch more than Aisleyne's "In-Your-Face" gameplay. I love both of you as people, so this was a hard choice. Good luck to both of you.
The fourth vote, cast by Michelle, goes to...
~Michelle Maradie~
She may have played up her being public enemy #1 to a nauseating degree but you can't take away the fact that, while April didn't need to fight for her life, Aisleyne did, AND she also took fate into her own hands at one point, and that cannot be over looked. I also really appreciated that she actually did know a little bit about me and got the facts straight as well as put her own spin on how she perceived me in the game. So congrats Aisleyne! I hope you win it!
The vote is currently tied at 2-2. The fifth vote, cast by Aaron, goes to...
~Aaron Allard-Morgan~
I vote for April to win Big Brother Pearl. You deserve it and played the best game here.
The vote is 3-2 in favor of April. If April receives one more vote, she will be the winner of BBPearl. The sixth vote, cast by Brian, goes to...
~Brian Hart~
Aisleyne, you are a fierce competitor. Even as a threat you escaped nomination by everyone who wanted you out. You took your nominations into your own hands, a risky move, but the allowance of two extra nominees was smart, and you pulled it off. Although I admire April's social game better, yours wasn't as bad as it looks. Your biggest ally quit the game, and you pulled through. You won the F4 and Final HoH. You got people to keep you safe when obviously, by where you're standing, they needed you gone. You survived what many others couldn't, and that's impressive.
The vote is now 3-3, and only one juror remains. That means that Drew's vote will determine the winner of Big Brother Pearl...
And the seventh vote, cast by Drew, goes to the WINNER of BBPearl...
Congratulations, Aisleyne!
By a vote of 4 to 3, you are the winner of BBPearl!
~Drew Daniel~
April was a person who I consider a close friend who played a great game and would be a good winner, but I think Aisleyne worked harder to overcome more odds to get where she is. Therefore, I vote for Aisleyne to win Big Brother Pearl!
Aisleyne excitedly rushed towards the front door, and was greeted by a display of fireworks and confetti. The crowd cheered as she exited the house and ran down the stairs to where Porsche and Kalia held her $500,000 check. It had been a long and difficult road, but Aisleyne had overcome the overwhelming odds and become the winner of BBPearl!
